Way back in the early to mid 80's I read everything I could get my hands on by Stephen King. I think Salem's Lot was the first book I'd read... probably fueled by the TV movie. I also read Carrie, The Shining, Cujo, The Stand, Christine and many more. And of course watched the movie adaptations. Loved Creep Show.
Then I got burned out on Stephen King.He remains incredibly talented and prolific but I just found other authors who I enjoy more.
When I heard HULU was doing a Castle Rock series I had zero expectations. First of all what is Castle Rock? Well it's a fictional town that has been mentioned in numerous King stories. And now it would be the back drop for many things King to come together. It's like Stephen King bought the ingredients but someone else is baking the cake. King is an executive producer but isn't writing or directing the show.
A couple of Sundays back I decided to give episode 1 a test drive... and I was hooked. Currently only 5 episodes in (out of a 10 episode season) but I'm really enjoying it. Sounds like season 2 started shooting this last March and I don't know if that implies spoilers or not but for now I'm just going to enjoy the ride. Give it a try if you have HULU. And if you've already seen it I'd like to know your thoughts.
